How many continents are there?

Depending where you come from in the world, you get taught different continent models. When I first arrived to United States, I was very confused to hear that there were 7 continents in the world and not 6. I had so many discussions with people because I was convinced they were wrong. However, no one was wrong.

These are the most common models that explain this:

5 Continents(Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, excluding Antarctica as uninhabited) – used in the Olympic flag, created by Pierre de Coubertin, where the rings represent the union of the five continents.

6 Continents(Africa, Asia, America, Antarctica, Europe and Oceania) – taught in Latin America and Western Europe including France and Spain.

7 Continents(Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America, South America) – taught in most English-speaking countries. Also in China, India, Philippines, Pakistan and parts of Europe.

Politics of Lebanon?

My exposure to Lebanon started during the revolution of 2019. During this time politics it was a hot topic in this country, where thousands of people were protesting on the streets to basically have the government resign.

Lebanon is a democratic republic within a framework of confessionalism, which is a system of government that is a mix of religion and politics, and the highest offices are proportionately reserved for representatives from certain religious communities.

The 1943 National Pact, an unwritten agreement that established the political foundations of modern Lebanon, allocated political power on an essentially confessional system. Positions in the government bureaucracy are allocated along religious lines,

-The President, a Maronite Christian.
-The Speaker of the Parliament, a Shi’a Muslim.
-The Prime Minister, a Sunni Muslim.
