Danny
I am from Lima, Peru. I Traveled often as a child, mostly to Chile for my mother’s business. We traveled frequently in South America. It was just something we did. It didn’t seem special. The early 90’s in Peru was a time of terrorism; Car bombs, inflation, long lines at the store, and poverty was our normal. At 16, I had the chance to study in Germany for three months. At that time, I did not understand what Culture meant. I was just Peruvian.
After moving to the US at 19, my desire for travel grew. I worked with people of many backgrounds, cultures, and countries of origin in my first state of residence, Georgia. After saving money for a while, Egypt was the first place I traveled to on my own. It was the first place I had dreamed of going to as a child; It seemed so mysterious and ancient. After that, my desire to visit every country in the world grew constantly. Today, my goal is to visit at least 5 countries a year. When I began to run marathons in the US, I thought why not combine marathons with travelling to various countries. To meet other runners, meet interesting people, ask why they travel, and what they love in life.
I also realized that giving back to the world would be important, volunteering my time to help others in return for the experience they give me. This is a documentation of my journey.
My bucket list:
- Travel outside earth
- Travel to every country in the world
- Run a marathon every year in a different country
- Chase a tornado
- Start a Non-Profit that helps homeless people and sponsors shelters to provide technical and trading skill classes.
